Christmas is simply not the same without some Christmas shopping! So why not pack your bags and go to Dublin City for a shopping spree. Dublin has to choose the different malls and shopping centers, and here we have no choice because you should not miss.
The main shopping streets in Dublin is the Henry Street and Grafton Street. Henry Street is a pedestrian street, located just off O'Connell Street, when the Spire is. The Christmas lights on Henry Street for the real atmosphere. Two big department stores here - ILAC Center and the Jervis Street Shopping Center. Arnott - the oldest department store in Dublin is also on this street will be with Roches Stores, and found Penny's.
Grafton Street is located south of the River Liffey to a 10 minute walk from Henry Street. It is also in a pedestrian street, and runs from College Green to St Stephen's Green. Grafton Street is a fantastic party atmosphere with carol singers, street musicians, and of course the spectacular Christmas lights that changed this year from Westlife and Jedward! Grafton is Dublin's fashionable shopping street, and this is where you'll find Brown Thomas and BT2, home to find all the top designer labels. If you want to get out of the city and all your Christmas shopping under one roof, we recommend that you head for Dundrum Town Center in Sandyford. The Dundrum Town Center is one of the largest in Ireland and has over 160 stores. There are some good retail units, such as House of Fraser, Next, Oasis, Karen Millen, Harvey Nichols, Penny's, GAP, Timberland.
A top-shopping destination for fashionistas are safe this holiday season Wertheim Village. Ok, so it's not based in Dublin, but it is less than an hour's drive on the M7. It is essentially a discount Outlet Shopping Village with over 50 luxury shops,
where bargain hunters can top designer brands can be found in up to 60% off! In the run up to Christmas, a Wertheim Village Express service goes from downtown to the Outlet Village on Saturdays and Sundays.
No Christmas shopping trip to Dublin is complete without visiting the Dublin Docklands Christmas market, which currently takes place in George's Quay in the IFSC area. Scroll up to 100 boxes in a spectacular Christmas village setting on the River Liffey. Enjoy sip mulled wine is a tasty treat in July, listen to carols and enjoy the festive atmosphere. This is an event not to miss and it runs for 12 days December 12 to 23.
